Recover Files after Cut & Paste

You normally use cut & paste or copy & paste command to move data from one place to another. Cut command places selected amount of text on a temporary storage area called clipboard. The data on the clipboard is later inserted in the position where paste command is issued. It can be done using keyboard shortcuts or by right clicking on the selected text. Any interruptions or error while performing this operation can lead to data loss.

Manual Method to recover data files after cut and paste

In case you’ve lost data during Cut & Paste operation, you can try to recover files in your Temp folder. To do so, go to Start > Run > ‘%temp%’ and check if you can view the files. In some cases, your files may be hidden; to check for hidden files go to Tools > Folder options > View and check ‘Show hidden files’ and check if they appear in the original location.

If the manual method does not recover data, you will need data recovery software like Remo Recover.
